In this role, you’ll partner closely with stakeholders across both IT and operational teams to translate business needs into clear, actionable technology outcomes. You’ll play a key role in shaping solutions that enable reliable, safe and efficient energy operations, working across a diverse landscape that includes enterprise IT as well as elements of Operational Technology (OT). This is an ideal opportunity for someone who enjoys meaningful stakeholder engagement, structured problem-solving, and delivering tangible value through well-designed technology solutions.
What you’ll do:
- Build strong relationships with business stakeholders, working to understand their goals, challenges and operational drivers.
- Facilitate discovery sessions, workshops and business engagement forums to ensure shared understanding and alignment.
- Translate business needs into clear IT requirements, user stories and documentation that support informed decision-making.
- Support the definition and delivery of technology solutions aligned with future operational, regulatory and strategic requirements.
- Produce customer journeys, process maps and operational impact assessments to underpin both new and existing services.
- Act as a trusted advisor, helping stakeholders understand IT processes, capabilities and service offerings.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and help secure buy-in across the organisation.
- Collaborate with internal IT teams and operational support functions to ensure effective communication of technology changes and events.
- Engage with vendors and external partners to understand emerging tools and opportunities within the utilities sector.
- Support the transition of new services into operational support, including light OT-touch services.
- Work with autonomy while following established frameworks and contribute to continuous improvement mindset.
- Use performance metrics and data insights to support decision-making and optimise delivery outcomes.
What to bring:
- Strong experience working with structured IT and business analysis frameworks, ideally in large, regulated or asset-intensive environments.
- Demonstrable business process management experience, including running workshops and requirements sessions.
- Exposure to both Agile and Waterfall delivery models.
- Experience with utilities-aligned platforms, such as SCADA, network management or OT-integrated systems is beneficial.
- Familiarity with SAP S/4HANA or SAP ERP, ESRI ArcGIS or other GIS tools, Power BI or similar analytics/reporting platforms.
- Prior experience in the energy, utilities, or critical infrastructure sector, or strong transferable experience.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management and influencing skills.
- A proactive, analytical and solutions-focused approach to problem-solving.
- Highly organised, able to manage multiple priorities and deliver in fast-moving environments.
