We're looking for a talented and motivated Business Analyst to join our growing team. In this role, you'll work alongside experienced professionals, contribute to impactful projects and help deliver solutions that create real value for our clients. You’ll partner closely with stakeholders across both IT and operational teams to translate business needs into clear, actionable technology outcomes. You’ll play a key role in shaping solutions that enable reliable, safe and efficient energy operations, working across a diverse landscape that includes enterprise IT as well as elements of Operational Technology (OT). Location: Glasgow (with occasional travel to Perth and Aberdeen)

Contract Type: Contract or Permanent considered

What you’ll do:

  • Build strong relationships with business stakeholders, working to understand their goals, challenges and operational drivers.
  • Analyse and document application, system and data flows across business and technology domains, identifying dependencies, integration points and opportunities for optimisation.
  • Review and validate solution designs in collaboration with internal technical teams, operational stakeholders and Systems Integrator (SI) partners, ensuring alignment with business and operational requirements.
  • Facilitate discovery sessions, workshops and business engagement forums to ensure shared understanding and alignment.
  • Translate business needs into clear IT requirements, user stories and documentation that support informed decision-making.
  • Support the definition and delivery of technology solutions aligned with future operational, regulatory and strategic requirements.
  • Produce customer journeys, process maps and operational impact assessments to underpin both new and existing services.
  • Support the coordination of solution delivery activities across internal teams, delivery partners and operational stakeholders.
  • Work closely with architects, engineers and delivery partners to understand system interactions, application dependencies and design impacts across enterprise, operational and infrastructure environments.
  • Support technology initiatives spanning both enterprise IT and Operational Technology (OT) environments, including systems supporting critical operational services and infrastructure.
  • Work autonomously while following established frameworks and contribute to a continuous improvement mindset.

What to bring:

  • Strong experience operating as a Business Analyst within complex IT environments, applying established analysis frameworks, tools and methodologies.
  • Experience analysing and documenting application landscapes, integration points and end-to-end data flows across enterprise environments is essential.
  • Experience working alongside Solution Architects, Enterprise Architects, Technical Designers or Systems Integrators to review, challenge and validate solution designs.
  • Experience producing: Business Requirements Documents (BRDs), Functional Specifications, User Stories, Process Maps, Data Flow Diagrams, Current State / Future State Assessments, Impact Assessments.
  • Demonstrable business process management experience, including running workshops and requirements sessions.
  • Exposure to both Agile and Waterfall delivery models.
  • Familiarity with SCADA, network management or OT‑integrated systems is beneficial.
  • Prior experience in the energy, utilities, or critical infrastructure sector, or strong transferable experience.
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management and influencing skills.
  • A proactive, analytical and solutions‑focused approach to problem‑solving.
  • Highly organised, able to manage multiple priorities and deliver in fast‑moving environments.
