Proskauer is seeking a Business Development Coordinator to support the firm's Private Investment Funds (PIF) practice, one of Proskauer's most high-profile and strategically important groups. This role is responsible for coordinating and delivering BD initiatives that enhance client engagement, strengthen market visibility, and support the practice's continued growth. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated BD or marketing professional to develop deep expertise in a leading global private markets practice.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Prepare new business presentations, proposals, and capability materials for client pitches and RFPs; track all activity in Foundation and related databases.
  • Work closely with BD colleagues to identify cross-marketing opportunities for PIF initiatives.
  • Maintain and update group marketing collateral, credentials, trackers, and BD repositories.
  • Coordinate legal directory and awards submissions, gathering inputs from lawyers and stakeholders (including Chambers, Legal 500, and other awards).
  • Conduct client, prospect, industry, and market research; identify trends and opportunities across PIF sub-practices and working groups.
  • Support internal BD planning, practice group meetings, and revenue-growth initiatives.
  • Act as a key liaison between the Events, Communications, Competitive Intelligence, Marketing Technology, and Creative teams to plan and execute client events, sponsorships, and marketing campaigns from inception through post-event follow-up.
  • Use InterAction, Foundation, and other tools to extract client intelligence and relationship data in support of pitches, events, and client planning.
  • Track sponsorships, memberships, and partner engagement to maximize ROI.
  • Maintain the PIF events tracker and calendar, identifying opportunities for cross-practice engagement and promotion.
  • Draft internal communications, meeting notes, and follow-up actions for BD initiatives.
  • Support the development and maintenance of shared trackers and distribution lists.
  • Assist with budgets, reporting, and post-matter/event follow-up activity.
  • Work with the Communications team and relevant office BD teams to publicize significant matters externally and internally.
  • Help raise the external profiles of specific PIF sub-practices and individual lawyers through targeted communications and market-facing activity.

Desired Skills and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • 2+ years of experience in business development, marketing, or a client-facing role, preferably within a law firm or professional services environment.
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft PowerPoint, Word, and Excel.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including editing and proofreading.
  • Strong analytical, critical-thinking, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively across departments and seniority levels.
  • Comfortable managing multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • High attention to detail and strong client service orientation.
  • Experience with CRM and research databases; familiarity with InterAction, Foundation, PitchBook, Preqin, or Capital IQ a plus.
  • Experience in private markets, fund formation, or financial services a plus.

This position will require physical presence in Proskauer’s offices on a regular basis (at least 3x per week, or more, if it becomes the policy of the Firm or as business needs require).
