The Applications Developer role consists of developing high-performance web, mobile, and client-server applications. This role requires maintaining existing applications, enhancing their functionality to meet evolving business needs, and expertise in the development, maintenance, and administration of SharePoint environments, both on-premise and cloud-based, ensuring optimal performance, security, and scalability. A deep understanding of development lifecycles and a proactive approach to technological trends in the legal industry are critical. The developer will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to ensure that solutions meet operational requirements and align with long-term strategic goals. This role may require after-hours support and maintenance activities to ensure system stability and minimize business disruptions.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Analyze business requirements to determine the most effective solution strategy; custom development, evaluating software, or modifying existing solutions; to deliver functional and efficient results.
- Design, develop, and maintain custom ASP/MVC.NET web applications and SharePoint solutions.
- Implement responsive and user-friendly front ends using client-side frameworks like jQuery, Bootstrap, React, and Angular.
- Develop and optimize SQL databases to support application needs, ensuring performance, integrity, and scalability.
- Use low-code development platforms such as PowerApps, Power Automate, PatternBuilder, and Fliplet to design and implement custom applications that improve business processes and workflow efficiency.
- Develop, deploy, and manage complex reports using SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS), Power BI, and other analytical tools to support business decision-making.
- Provide high-level technical support and training to users, empowering them to fully leverage technology solutions.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to the managed platforms.
- Integrate custom solutions with existing enterprise systems and third-party services to enhance functionality and user experience.
- Lead project development efforts and ensure best practices in software development are followed.
- Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve complex software issues in a timely and efficient manner.
- Proactively seek and implement improvements in development processes, technologies, and tools to enhance productivity and solution quality.
- Produce comprehensive documentation for developed solutions and maintain regular reports on project status, challenges, and achievements.
- Collaborate with project managers, business analysts, and stakeholders to ensure clear understanding of project requirements and deliverables.
- Provide after-hours support and perform maintenance tasks as needed to ensure system reliability and availability.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in software development with a strong focus on SharePoint, SQL Server, and the .NET environment.
- Proficiency in administration and development of SharePoint 2016, 2019, SE, and SharePoint Online web components.
- Proficiency developing ASP.NET MVC or ASP.NET Core MVC applications.
- Strong knowledge of C# programming language with expertise in web API development, SQL and the Entity Framework.
- Experience with client-side and front-end frameworks such as jQuery, Bootstrap, React, and Angular.
- Demonstrated experience in managing multiple projects, with strong organizational and prioritization skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, capable of effectively articulating technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
- Strong problem-solving skills, with a methodical approach to tackling challenges and delivering innovative solutions.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment, providing support and mentorship to other team members as needed.
This position will require physical presence in Proskauer’s offices on a regular basis (at least 3x per week, or more, if it becomes the policy of the Firm or as business needs require).
