What You Need To Know

We are seeking a Test & Commissioning Engineer to join our service team, supporting the installation, testing and commissioning of electrical, electronic, electro‑hydraulic and hydraulic control systems used in surface and subsea oil & gas applications. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys hands‑on technical work, global travel and solving complex system issues, while supporting high-profile international projects and clients. You will work closely with internal engineering teams and global clients to ensure systems are installed, commissioned, maintained and supported to the highest standards.

What We Are Looking For

Some of the Key Accountabilities:

  • Performing system testing, installation and commissioning of electrical, electronic, electro‑hydraulic and hydraulic control systems
  • Providing aftermarket support and maintenance for PLC/SCADA‑based and hydraulic/pneumatic control systems
  • Investigating and diagnosing electrical, hydraulic, PLC/RTU and SCADA system faults
  • Identifying software faults and implementing code modifications in line with company and industry standards
  • Supporting factory acceptance testing (FAT) and client testing before system delivery
  • Delivering on‑site technical support and guidance to clients worldwide
  • Assisting with equipment preparation, mobilisation and documentation for site work
  • Updating as‑built documentation and technical records following installations or maintenance activities
  • Supporting client training and operational guidance
  • Identifying opportunities for system upgrades, improvements or additional service support

Qualifications / Skills & Experience

Essential:

  • Strong engineering background
  • Experience working with electrical, electronic, electro‑hydraulic, hydraulic or pneumatic control systems
  • Knowledge of PLC/RTU systems and SCADA platforms
  • Experience in testing, commissioning and fault finding in control systems
  • Experience supporting systems within the oil & gas industry
  • Ability to diagnose complex system issues and problem‑solve
  • Strong communication and customer‑facing skills
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a service team
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Full driving license and valid passport for international travel

Desirable:

  • Professional qualification in Electrical, Electronic or Mechanical Engineering
  • Experience with Allen Bradley or GE Fanuc PLCs
  • Experience with Citect or InTouch SCADA systems
  • Ability to modify PLC or system software code
  • Experience with hazardous area equipment
  • CompEx certification
  • Understanding of SIL‑rated systems
  • Experience building surface or subsea control equipment
