What You Need To Know

As a Buyer, you will play a key role in supporting operational delivery by procuring goods and services that meet quality, specification, cost, and delivery requirements.

Working closely with Operations, Engineering, Quality and suppliers, you'll ensure materials and services are available when needed whilst helping drive supply chain performance and continuous improvement.

What We Are Looking For

We're looking for a proactive and organised procurement professional who can build strong relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders.

You'll be commercially aware, detail-oriented, and comfortable managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced operational environment.

  • Some of the Key Accountabilities
  • Source, evaluate and negotiate with suppliers to secure competitive pricing, quality and delivery performance.
  • Raise and manage purchase orders, ensuring accurate and timely processing.
  • Monitor supplier performance, expedite deliveries and communicate risks or delays to stakeholders.
  • Develop and support supplier agreements and contracts to deliver value and operational efficiency.
  • Maintain accurate purchasing, supplier and material master data within ERP systems.
  • Manage engineering specification changes and ensure supplier compliance with revised requirements.
  • Support the investigation and resolution of supplier quality issues and non-conformances.
  • Obtain quotations and support proposal activities when required.
  • Build effective relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders to support operational success.
  • Contribute to cost-saving initiatives, KPIs and continuous improvement activities.
  • What You'll Bring
  • Experience working within a purchasing, procurement or supply chain environment.
  • Knowledge of supplier management, purchase order processes and negotiation techniques.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Excellent planning, organisational and problem-solving abilities.
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office and ERP/MRP systems.
  • High attention to detail with a focus on quality, accuracy and compliance.
  • Qualifications equivalent to National 5 English and Maths.
  • A commitment to ethical business practices, compliance and continuous improvement.
  • It Would be Advantageous if you Have
  • Previous experience in a Buyer role.
  • Experience within engineering, manufacturing, measurement or operational environments.
  • Commercial awareness with experience identifying cost-saving opportunities.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics 365.
  • A procurement, supply chain, commercial or CIPS-related qualification.
