The Manager of Pre-Sales Engineering leads a team of pre-sales engineers that are the nexus between sales, solutions consulting, and product management. The Pre-Sales Engineering function is at the center of the PROS go-to-market (GTM) engine and is responsible for the strategic design, configuration, execution, and maintenance of impactful GTM demos, commercial best practices, and sales effectiveness tools to inspire prospects and customers to move towards a better tomorrow and recognize PROS as the best technology and partner in the market.

A Day in the Life of the Manager Pre-Sales Engineering - About the role:

  • Collaborate with our sales, solutions consulting, and product teams to ensure compelling technical solutions that demonstrate real value are created and executed.
  • Manage projects by providing direction on scoping and ensuring process compliance while mitigating risk.
  • Lead and manage strategic initiatives and special projects.
  • Identify knowledge gaps on team and facilitate training.
  • Conduct regular 1-on-1 meetings with direct reports and provide coaching and career development.
  • Advise the sales and solutions consulting team with winning solution strategies and the demo use cases needed to address specific business problems.

Team leadership in pre-sales consulting and/or pre-sales engineering in the enterprise software space for a complex software or application provider.

Strong project management skills.

Successful experience in a complex sales environment.

Bachelor’s degree in technical, engineering, or business discipline.

Experience with CPQ, CRM, ERP, eCommerce Technology.

Experience with Travel and Logistics Technology.

Experience with JavaScript, Bash, CSS, HTML.

BI and Analytics/Reporting Tools.

Experience with Database Systems (Microsoft SQL Server, MySQL, Oracle, Databricks).

Experience with Software Testing and Documentation.

Experience with Unix based environments and file systems management.

Experience with Business Intelligence and Analytics/Reporting Tools.

Experience with Microsoft Office Suite.
