The Manager of Pre-Sales Engineering leads a team of pre-sales engineers that are the nexus between sales, solutions consulting, and product management. The Pre-Sales Engineering function is at the center of the PROS go-to-market (GTM) engine and is responsible for the strategic design, configuration, execution, and maintenance of impactful GTM demos, commercial best practices, and sales effectiveness tools to inspire prospects and customers to move towards a better tomorrow and recognize PROS as the best technology and partner in the market.

A Day in the Life of the Manager Pre-Sales Engineering - About the role:

  • Collaborate with our sales, solutions consulting, and product teams to ensure compelling technical solutions that demonstrate real value are created and executed.
  • Manage projects by providing direction on scoping and ensuring process compliance while mitigating risk.
  • Lead and manage strategic initiatives and special projects.
  • Assist in allocating resources and reporting on utilization.
  • Responsible for maintaining production integrity of demo systems.
  • Build and cultivate relationships with other teams at PROS.
  • Identify knowledge gaps on team and facilitate training.
  • Conduct regular 1-on-1 meetings with direct reports and provide coaching and career development.
  • Assist with recruiting, onboarding and managing resources.
  • Advise the sales and solutions consulting team with winning solution strategies and the demo use cases needed to address specific business problems.

Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • 5-8 years strongly preferred, 2 years minimum required experience in one or more of the following areas:
  • Team leadership in pre-sales consulting and/or pre-sales engineering in the enterprise software space for a complex software or application provider.
  • Team leadership in configuration and/or implementation in the enterprise software space for a complex software or application provider.
  • Strong project management skills.
  • Proactive approach to learning.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Successful experience in a "complex sales" environment.
  • Excels individually and in team-driven initiatives.
  • Track record of managing teams who met or exceeded goals.
  • Bachelor’s degree in technical, engineering, or business discipline.
Strongly Desired Skills and Qualifications:
  • Knowledge and understanding of PROS solutions and their value propositions.
  • Experience with Pricing and Revenue Optimization Technology.
  • Experience with CPQ, CRM, ERP, eCommerce Technology.
  • Experience with Travel and Logistics Technology.
  • Knowledge of Pricing Practices Across Industries.
  • Experience with JavaScript, Bash, CSS, HTML.
  • BI and Analytics/Reporting Tools.
  • Experience with Database Systems (Microsoft SQL Server, MySQL, Oracle, Databricks).

  • Experience with Unix based environments and file systems management.
