The Role
We are supporting our client in the search for a Senior / Principal Civil Engineer to join their Leeds team. This is a key hire within the business, offering the opportunity to work across a varied portfolio of projects including residential, commercial, education, and regeneration schemes. You will play an important role in both technical delivery and client interaction, working closely with internal teams and external stakeholders to deliver well-considered engineering solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the delivery of civil engineering projects from concept through to completion
- Manage and support engineers at different levels within the team
- Act as a key point of contact for clients, consultants, and stakeholders
- Produce and review technical designs, reports, and calculations
- Manage project programmes, resources, and budgets
- Contribute to bids and support wider business development activity
- Mentor and develop junior team members
Requirements
- Experience within a civil engineering consultancy environment
- Strong background across infrastructure, development, or regeneration projects
- Good understanding of planning, approvals, and technical delivery processes
- Proficiency in Civil 3D, MicroDrainage (or Causeway Flow), and AutoCAD
- Strong communication and report writing skills
- Commercial awareness and project management capability
- Ability to manage workload and deadlines effectively
