We are recruiting for an HGV Class 1 Tanker Driver / Ground Operative to join one of the UKs most renowned environmental contractors, working on high-profile, specialist projects across the country. This is not a waste industry role; there is NO human waste involved. The work focuses on environmental response, clean-up, and remediation projects where the environment may be adversely affected.

The Role

You will be part of specialist teams working alongside engineers and environmental professionals on tailored, time-critical jobs. Projects include:

  • Fire disaster clean-ups
  • Oil spill response
  • Petrol station rebuilds
  • Chemical spill remediation
  • Environmental recovery and protection works

Approximately 10-20% of the role is driving, with the rest being hands-on ground operations and team-based site work.

Requirements

  • HGV Class 1 (Category C+E) licence
  • Tanker experience of some kind is essential
  • ADR Licence highly beneficial
  • High Pressure Jetting Ticket or proven experience required
  • JetVac tanker experience is an advantage
  • Strong work ethic and flexibility for overtime and travel
  • Comfortable working in challenging, safety-critical environments

Hours & Pay

Contracted 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday. Large amounts of overtime available and expected. Some jobs require overnight stays; accommodation paid for. All hours before 7am and after 5pm paid at Time & a Half. Some overtime paid at Double Time. Company handles highly critical, time-sensitive jobs requiring additional hours.
