I’m looking for a Senior Town Planner to join a growing consultancy in central Edinburgh. This opportunity is unique as you will have the opportunity to assist shaping a growing team and business, be client facing from day one and work with experienced hands-on leaders who are experts in their field. They specialise in renewable energy and retail planning, but also work on residential, industrial, commercial and a range of schemes so if you have experience or an interest in renewable energy or retail planning but are keen to get involved in other schemes this role is ideal.

The ideal candidate will be self-sufficient, confident and a team player. These attributes are imperative as you will have a lot of autonomy and lead on projects in a non-micro managed environment.

Responsibilities:
  • Support Directors and senior planners in delivering planning consultancy services across energy, retail and commercial development projects.
  • Assist with the preparation, submission and management of planning applications and supporting documentation.
  • Lead or manage smaller planning applications, site appraisals and feasibility studies with guidance from senior staff.
  • Undertake planning policy research, site assessments and project analysis to inform planning strategies and client advice.
  • Contribute to retail planning work, including data analysis and preparation of retail impact assessments and related studies.
  • Liaise with clients, local authorities and multidisciplinary project teams to help progress development proposals.
The ideal candidate will:
  • Have experience in private sector consultancy (not essential)
