My client is a leading global multi-disciplinary engineering firm focused on design, engineering, architecture, planning and consultancy for the built environment and they’re looking for a Senior Environmental Consultant. The successful candidate will be responsible for the delivery of EIA on major infrastructure and development projects.

Responsibilities

• Leading the delivery of environmental impact assessment (EIA) projects, including coordinating the assessment process, managing technical teams, and reviewing all specialist inputs.
• Preparing a range of environmental documentation such as EIA screening requests, scoping reports, Environmental Statements, and other related reports.
• Reviewing technical chapters and submissions to ensure compliance with EIA Regulations and alignment with project requirements.
• Carrying out project management tasks, including programme development and budget oversight.
• Collaborating with and providing leadership to multi-disciplinary project teams.
• Communicating effectively with clients and maintaining strong working relationships.

Qualifications

• Solid understanding of environmental legislation, with hands-on experience applying relevant laws, policies, and guidance to impact assessments across a variety of project types.
• Desirable experience working on projects within the Energy and/or Water sectors.
• Familiarity with the Development Consent Order (DCO) process under the Planning Act 2008 is advantageous.
• Demonstrated ability to manage environmental projects, including effective coordination of technical specialists and multi-disciplinary teams.
• Strong verbal and written communication abilities, with excellent report-writing skills.

Qualifications:

• Chartered Environmentalist status is desirable but not essential.
