Our client is a well established independent planning consultancy with an excellent reputation for delivering high-quality planning advice across a diverse range of development projects. Operating from multiple offices, the consultancy works on residential, commercial, retail and strategic land schemes, ranging from large scale regeneration projects to bespoke heritage developments.

The team provides a full planning consultancy service, including site appraisals, planning strategy, feasibility advice, design input and local plan representations. Known for its collaborative and client focused approach, the business offers a supportive working environment where planners are encouraged to take ownership of projects, develop their expertise and contribute to innovative planning solutions.

Requirements

  • MRTPI-accredited planner with strong private sector experience and knowledge of the local authority planning process.
  • Proven ability to manage complex planning applications, including outline, full and reserved matters submissions.
  • Experience preparing high-quality planning statements, Statements of Community Involvement, and other supporting planning documentation with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent understanding of the development management and local plan process, with the ability to undertake site appraisals and provide strategic planning advice.
  • Experience representing planning proposals at planning committees and managing planning appeals, including hearings and public inquiries.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to develop innovative planning strategies, alongside a willingness to mentor and support junior colleagues.
