Our client is a well-established UK engineering manufacturer with over 100 years of industry expertise, supplying customers worldwide. Due to continued growth, they are seeking a hands-on Floor Manager to lead shopfloor operations and ensure production targets, quality standards, and customer delivery dates are achieved.

Salary is between £35,000 to £40,000 depending on experience and benefits include 33 days holiday including Bank Holidays and free car parking. Hours of work are 8.00am – 4:30pm (Monday – Thursday) 8.00am – 3:30pm (Friday), working 39 hours per week.

You will be reporting to the Production Manager, overseeing all live works orders on the production floor, managing workflow from production through to warehouse dispatch. You will lead approximately 30 employees across five factory sections, working closely with Technical and Warehouse teams to maintain efficiency, quality, and on-time delivery.

As the Floor Manager, you will:

  • Manage live works orders through all stages of production
  • Lead and support Chargehands and production operatives
  • Monitor progress, resolve production issues, and maintain workflow
  • Ensure quality, Health & Safety, and company procedures are followed
  • Liaise with Technical and Warehouse teams to meet customer deadlines
  • Drive continuous improvement across the shopfloor

As the Floor Manager, you will have:

  • Previous experience within a precision engineering or metal manufacturing environment
  • Proven experience managing production teams
  • Strong problem-solving and communication skills
  • Experience dealing with day-to-day HR and Health & Safety matters
  • Good IT skills, including Excel, Word, and Outlook
  • Knowledge of power transmission products or Zoho software would be advantageous
