Assistant Project Manager
We are seeking a highly organized and driven Assistant Project Manager to join our construction management team. This role supports the oversight and delivery of multiple industrial property projects across Greater Boston. The ideal candidate combines strong project coordination skills with a passion for real estate and construction, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.
β’ Full-time position
β’ Salary: Up to $100,000 base plus performance-based bonus
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage multiple tenant improvement and capital projects from concept through close-out, ensuring quality, budget, and timeline compliance
- Serve as liaison between construction stakeholders (contractors, architects, tenants, property managers), ensuring smooth communication and documented outcomes
- Conduct regular site visits to monitor progress, identify repair needs, and ensure adherence to safety, compliance, and construction quality standards
- Lead or participate in project meetings and maintain accurate meeting notes and status updates
- Assist in budgeting and forecasting by preparing and monitoring project budgets, estimates, and capital plans
- Review and approve project-related invoices and manage payables within approved budgets
- Draft scopes of work and manage competitive bidding processes for contractor selection
Required Experience:
- 2-4 years of experience in construction or project management, ideally within real estate or industrial properties
- Experience managing multiple simultaneous construction projects with budget oversight and stakeholder coordination
- Exposure to the full project lifecycle – from budgeting and bid documentation to project closeout and reporting
Nice-to-Have:
- Prior work with tenant improvement projects or light industrial property types
- Experience working in cross-functional environments (property management, leasing, legal)
- Knowledge of building systems and construction disciplines (MEP, structural, finishes, etc.)
- Proficiency with Microsoft Project and Word
- OSHA 10-hour certification
- Valid driverβs license and personal vehicle
Required Skills:
- Project Management Proficiency: Strong ability to manage schedules, budgets, contractors, and competing project timelines
- Advanced Microsoft Excel Skills: Ability to manage financial tracking, reporting, and forecasting with advanced Excel functionality
- Communication & Coordination: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills for internal teams and external vendors
