Prophet PLC is the leading supplier of ERP software solutions to the fresh food industry.

We are looking for a Software Architect with a background in C /C++ to join our rapidly expanding team. Based in Coventry and with offices in South Africa and the US, we can offer good career progression and the chance to work on large global projects.

List Of Duties Include But Are Not Limited To:

  • You will be expected to evaluate and identify software solutions and to work closely with the technical Director in determining and looking at poor-behaving software and finding ways to improve it.
  • Involved in research, gathering of information, interpretation of data, and finalising a solution.
  • Documentation is a very important part of this role. Every aspect of our system or application must be thoroughly recorded. These documents will serve as references for new employees and for future maintenance on the system.
  • You must be able to communicate well through writing and be able to create flowcharts and diagrams.
  • Coaching and mentoring the team will be expected after training and induction. The right person will be expected to share skills and expertise with colleagues as well as set a positive example for them.

Job Specifications, Standards And Requirements:

  • Broad and extensive knowledge of the software development process and its technologies.
  • Knowledge of architectural styles and design patterns.
  • Understanding of various coding methods and computer languages (C/C++).
  • Data modeling and database design experience.
  • Experience with software development lifecycle (SDLC) processes.
