The predicted salary is between 36000 - 60000 £ per year.
This is a chance for a well-qualified and experienced DBA to use their wider experience to step into a key role in our core data team. In a fast-moving and intellectually challenging environment, our goal is to improve overall user satisfaction through product design and delivery.
The system operates on a complex set of SQL Server databases across many different customer environments (including AWS and Azure). Working closely with the Head of Data Services, you will be responsible for a wide scope of database support functions including design, support, performance, and reporting.
The role requires:
- Established skills in T-SQL programming.
- A deep understanding of Microsoft SQL Server fundamentals including indexes, statistics, query plans, tempdb, installation, configuration, DMVs, and troubleshooting.
- A good understanding of relational table design including normalisation, constraints, OLAP vs OLTP, traditional data warehousing.
- Experience in critical thinking and troubleshooting.
- Experience with Azure SQL Database and Azure SQL Managed instance would be beneficial.
- Experience with Power BI would be beneficial but not essential.
- Ability to communicate confidently with technical, non-technical, internal, and external personnel.
