An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the ProPharmace team as a Freelance Foundation Training Programme Facilitator. We are looking for dedicated and experienced pharmacists with a passion for education and training to deliver midweek, face-to-face training events across London, the East of England and South East NHS regions. The successful applicants will work with a team of facilitators across these regions. They will be expected to link effectively with the other regional post holders and report to the Regional Foundation Training Programme Facilitator. Events will be held at hubs across the regions as outlined above. Please specify in your application your preferred locations. A degree of flexibility is required for travel across the region, with occasional travel to other regions and London.

Key Responsibilities

  • The Foundation Training Facilitator will play a pivotal role in the delivery of face-to-face training and supporting trainee pharmacists through their foundation year.
  • Work alongside the Regional Foundation Programme Facilitators to implement the delivery, design, and continuous improvement of ProPharmace Foundation Training educational content.
  • Deliver high-quality educational content focused on clinical decision-making and practical application in the workplace.
  • Contribute to the organisation and delivery of ProPharmace training events, workshops, and webinars.
  • Provide guidance and support to trainee pharmacists, fostering a positive and productive learning environment.
  • Identify and support pharmacist trainees requiring further support during their foundation training period.
  • Promote ProPharmace programmes to regional and national stakeholders and build strong relationships within the pharmacy education community.
  • Apply learner feedback and performance data to enhance training programmes and ensure they meet the highest educational standards.
  • Collaborate with the team to implement digital learning solutions and innovative training methodologies.
  • Represent ProPharmace at face-to-face events and through social media posts.

Experience and Knowledge

  • Detailed knowledge of foundation pharmacist training requirements.
  • A thorough understanding of pharmacy practice, NHS policy, and GPhC educational standards.
  • Knowledge of training infrastructure across pharmacy sectors.
  • Understanding of different learning styles, educational supervision, quality management and inter-professional education.
  • Have previous experience with clinical teaching and learning activities associated with postgraduate and/or undergraduate pharmacy students.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to support and motivate others.
  • Current experience of community, hospital or primary care pharmacy.
  • Proficient in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and digital learning tools.

Qualifications and Training

  • Registered Pharmacist with the GPhC.
  • Evidence of post-registration continuing professional development.
  • Desirable: Independent Prescribing Qualification.

Salary & Benefits

  • Contract Type: Freelance.
  • Working Hours: Training dates to be agreed and confirmed. Training days will run 9:30-4:30 (registration from 9am) at agreed locations across the region.
