The team has a diverse and wide-ranging portfolio including delivery of Clean Growth, Natural Flood Management, Brownfield Housing, and Economic Regeneration programmes.

In 2021, the £1.8bn devolution deal was secured for West Yorkshire, enabling us to drive up living standards for local communities while tackling the climate emergency and helping to deliver our commitment to become a net zero carbon city region by 2038.

We are seeking to appoint skilled, dedicated, and experienced Principal Project Managers to join our friendly and professional team across the following areas:

  • British Library North (1 Role): As part of our West Yorkshire Devolution deal, the Combined Authority has been allocated £25 million to support the development of a British Library for the North, with the preferred site being the Grade 1 listed building, Temple Works, located in the Southbank area of Leeds.

You should be proactive, with excellent communication skills, and an ability to build strong partnership relationships. You will have the following key skills, attributes, education, and experience:

  • Stakeholder, Contract, and partnership management
  • Budgeting and financial management
  • Commercial surveying skills including delivering projects within a development land environment and context
  • Significant experience of procurement procedures, and taking a lead, working with legal advisors, to negotiate contracts and/or funding agreements, commercial partnership, and collaboration agreements

We are running a session for interested candidates to join a presentation and ‘meet the team’ behind these roles. This includes the recruiting manager, where you’ll have an opportunity to discuss the role in depth and ask any questions you may have. The details for this virtual event will be shared with interested individuals following initial contact.

We offer an excellent benefits package including access to a generous employer-contribution local government pension scheme and fully funded travel throughout West Yorkshire by bus and rail with the MCard, currently worth over £1,860 per year.
