Propertymark is making its next significant step towards strengthening independence, transparency and public trust across the property sector. As part of this transformation, we are recruiting independent Regulatory Board Members to help oversee professional standards, regulatory policy and disciplinary frameworks.
The Regulatory Board operates independently of the Propertymark Board, ensuring that regulation places the public interest first. As a Regulatory Board Member, you will play a central role in shaping and overseeing regulatory standards, decision-making and governance, in line with best practice across professional sectors.
You will:
- Uphold regulatory independence and act consistently in the public interest
- Contribute to the development and oversight of professional standards, rules and regulatory policies
- Scrutinise regulatory, disciplinary and sanctions processes to ensure fairness, transparency and accountability
- Monitor relevant legislative and regulatory developments and advise on their impact
- Participate fully in Board meetings, committees and consultations
- Provide advice and recommendations to the Propertymark Board on regulatory matters
About you
We are seeking individuals who bring:
- Demonstrable experience in regulation, governance, compliance, legal or ethical standards
- Strong, independent judgement and the ability to assess complex issues objectively
- A clear commitment to acting in the public interest above sectional or commercial interests
- High standards of integrity and ethical conduct
- An understanding of, and commitment to, equality, diversity and inclusion
- The confidence to provide constructive challenge within a diverse Board
- Previous experience in disciplinary, complaints or tribunal processes, or as a non-executive director or trustee, is desirable.
Time commitment
- Up to 6 days per year, including at least two Regulatory Board meetings
- Three-year term, with potential for renewal
- Remunerated at £650 per day
