The Regulatory Board operates independently of the Propertymark Board, ensuring that regulation places the public interest first. As a Regulatory Board Member, you will play a central role in shaping and overseeing regulatory standards, decision-making and governance, in line with best practice across professional sectors.

  • Scrutinise regulatory, disciplinary and sanctions processes to ensure fairness, transparency and accountability
  • Monitor relevant legislative and regulatory developments and advise on their impact
  • Participate fully in Board meetings, committees and consultations
  • Provide advice and recommendations to the Propertymark Board on regulatory matters

About you

We are seeking individuals who bring:

  • Demonstrable experience in regulation, governance, compliance, legal or ethical standards
  • Strong, independent judgement and the ability to assess complex issues objectively
  • A clear commitment to acting in the public interest above sectional or commercial interests
  • High standards of integrity and ethical conduct
  • An understanding of, and commitment to, equality, diversity and inclusion
  • The confidence to provide constructive challenge within a diverse Board
  • Previous experience in disciplinary, complaints or tribunal processes, or as a non-executive director or trustee, is desirable.

Time commitment

  • Up to 6 days per year, including at least two Regulatory Board meetings
  • Three-year term, with potential for renewal
  • Remunerated at £650 per day

This is a high-impact opportunity to help shape independent regulation, reinforce consumer protection, and support professionalism across property agencies — at a pivotal moment of reform for the sector.
