The Product Owner at PropertyBox owns the how and when of product delivery. Working closely with a Product Manager and an engineering squad, you will turn product strategy and customer problems into clear, prioritised, delivery-ready work. This role is critical to improving delivery focus, quality, and momentum across our squads. You will bring structure where needed, help teams understand the why behind the work, and ensure we consistently ship valuable outcomes for customers. Depending on experience, you may own delivery for a single squad or manage delivery across up to two related product streams.

What you’ll be doing

  • Owning and maintaining a clear, prioritised product backlog aligned to business goals and customer outcomes
  • Translating product strategy, discovery insights, and problem statements into well-written user stories and acceptance criteria
  • Leading sprint planning, backlog refinement, and day-to-day delivery coordination with the engineering team
  • Acting as the first point of clarification for engineers, removing blockers and managing scope within iterations
  • Validating completed work to ensure it meets acceptance criteria, quality standards, and user needs
  • Working closely with offshore and onshore engineers to drive focus, engagement, and shared understanding
  • Collaborating with QA and engineering to ensure appropriate testing, technical considerations, and delivery quality
  • Supporting releases through documentation, release notes, and internal communication
  • Providing clear visibility on delivery progress, risks, and dependencies to Product Managers and stakeholders
  • Championing agile best practice while pragmatically improving how the team plans, delivers, and learns

Who we’re looking for

  • Delivery-focused Product Owner who enjoys being close to teams and getting things shipped
  • Experience as a Product Owner, Business Analyst, or Delivery-focused Product Manager in a SaaS environment
  • Strong knowledge of agile delivery practices (Scrum, Kanban) and how to apply them pragmatically
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to turn ambiguity into clarity
  • Confidence working with technical teams, including offshore or distributed delivery teams
  • A good understanding of modern software development, system constraints, and technical trade-offs
  • Experience balancing business value, technical effort, and delivery risk when prioritising work

Qualities

  • Delivery-driven with a strong sense of ownership
  • Calm, structured, and pragmatic under pressure
  • Able to motivate teams by connecting work to customer value
  • Comfortable challenging assumptions and raising standards
  • Collaborative, positive, and outcome-focused

Where will you be based?

We are a remote-first business and across the Technology and Product teams we operate a flexible working policy with up to 1 day a week in our East Croydon shared office space.

What’s in it for you?

At PropertyBox we believe in our journey and our way of working reflects an ‘all together’ approach to solving problems, working together and shared vision. Alongside this we also offer all our colleagues:

  • Flexibility to buy and sell additional days
  • Up to 6% company contributed pension
  • Private healthcare

This job description is intended to be an indication of the scope of the role. In addition to these functions employees are required to carry out such other duties as may reasonably be required.
