We are seeking two experienced Building Surveyors to join a public sector property team on a temporary basis on a 12-18 month contract. These roles will focus primarily on delivering projects within a SEND (Special Educational Needs and Disabilities) programme, supporting the creation of additional resource provisions within mainstream schools across Hampshire.

This is a hybrid role requiring a minimum of one day per week in the Winchester office, with regular attendance at project sites across Hampshire.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Leading SEND school projects valued typically between £500k – £750k
  • Managing two projects concurrently (occasionally three) as part of a wider programme
  • Delivering internal alterations, refurbishments, external play areas and parking/drop-off schemes
  • Preparing specifications and technical documentation
  • Producing and reviewing CAD drawings
  • Managing planning applications and associated requirements including BNG
  • Providing strong project leadership to ensure completion for August 2027 operational deadlines
  • Potential deployment onto wider school condition or property projects if necessary

Skills & Experience Required

  • Experienced building surveyor, MRICS or MCIOB is advantageous but not essential
  • CAD skills
  • Excellent specification writing ability
  • Solid construction and refurbishment knowledge
  • Experienced in delivering projects independently
  • Strong project management and leadership capability
  • Experience with planning applications and regulatory processes

Salary & Benefits

  • £neg day / hourly rate (depending on experience) – OUTSIDE IR35
  • Long term contract until March 2027 or August 2027
  • Hybrid role, 1 day in the office a week
  • Immediate start
