An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join a highly respected independent construction consultancy with an outstanding reputation for delivering complex, high-value projects across the UK. Working across prime residential, heritage, education and luxury hospitality sectors, you’ll be involved in some of the most prestigious projects in the country. This is a client‑facing role offering genuine responsibility, autonomy and the opportunity to work alongside a highly experienced team delivering projects where quality is paramount. This role would suit an experienced Quantity Surveyor looking to take the next step in their career, working on exceptional projects while building long‑term relationships with clients and stakeholders.
Role and Responsibilities
- Delivering pre and post-contract Quantity Surveying services across a range of projects
- Preparing cost plans, estimates and procurement strategies
- Managing tender processes and contractor negotiations
- Administering JCT contracts and managing commercial risk
- Monitoring project costs, variations and cash flow
- Preparing valuations and final accounts
- Working closely with Project Managers and design teams to ensure successful project delivery
- Managing client relationships and acting as a trusted commercial advisor
- Supporting and mentoring junior members of the team
Skills & Experience
- Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline
- Consultancy Quantity Surveying experience within the UK construction sector
- Strong pre and post-contract knowledge
- Experience administering JCT contracts
- Excellent commercial awareness and cost management skills
- Strong communication and client‑facing abilities
- MRICS qualified or working towards chartership preferred
- Experience within heritage, education, hospitality or high‑end residential projects would be advantageous
