An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Building Surveyor to establish and lead a new Building Surveying division within a highly respected independent construction consultancy. This is a rare opportunity for an entrepreneurial and commercially minded Director ready to take the next step. Backed by an established client base, strong reputation and experienced Quantity Surveying and Project Management teams, you’ll have the autonomy to build and grow a Building Surveying department while playing a key role in the wider leadership of the business.
The consultancy works across a prestigious portfolio of projects including prime residential, heritage, education and luxury hospitality schemes, acting for some of the UK’s most respected institutions, family offices and private clients.
Role and Responsibilities:
- Establishing and growing the Building Surveying service offering
- Developing and implementing a strategic growth plan for the department
- Delivering a full range of Building Surveying services across multiple sectors
- Building and maintaining strong client relationships
- Developing new business opportunities and expanding existing client accounts
- Recruiting, mentoring and leading a Building Surveying team
- Working collaboratively with Quantity Surveying and Project Management teams
- Contributing to business strategy and senior leadership decisions
- Taking ownership of departmental financial performance and profitability
Skills & Experience:
- MRICS qualified with significant post-qualification experience
- Proven track record within Building Surveying consultancy
- Experience leading teams and developing business growth strategies
- Strong client relationship and business development skills
- Commercially astute with an entrepreneurial mindset
- Experience winning and delivering work across a variety of sectors
- Ambitious and motivated to build and lead a successful department
- Existing client relationships and market presence highly desirable
