CDM Consultant / Principal Designer
A leading multi-disciplinary construction consultancy are currently seeking an experienced Principal Designer to join their established team. This is an excellent opportunity for a construction or design professional with strong CDM experience who is looking for a varied role, long-term career development and the opportunity to work closely with clients and project teams.
As Principal Designer, you will provide Principal Designer services across a varied portfolio of projects and will work closely with clients, designers and contractors to manage health, safety and design risks. The role offers exposure to projects ranging from demolition and refurbishment through to major construction schemes, with the opportunity to take on increasing responsibility for key clients.
Duties:
- Undertaking the Principal Designer role in accordance with CDM 2015
- Providing advice on design risk management and hazard elimination
- Co-ordinating health and safety matters during the design stage
- Reviewing design information and identifying significant risks
- Undertaking site visits and health and safety inspections
- Liaising with clients, architects, consultants and contractors
- Maintaining strong client relationships and supporting project delivery
- Assisting with fee proposals, marketing and bid submissions
- Supporting the wider health and safety function where required
- Candidate Requirements:
- Strong xgikmsk construction or design background with proven CDM 2015 experience
- Previous experience undertaking the Principal Designer role
- Good understanding of design risk management and the design hazard elimination process
- Experience across a variety of project types, values and complexities
- Excellent communication and client management skills
