We are seeking a qualified and detail-oriented Tree Surveyor to assess the health, safety, and environmental impact of trees across public and private sites. This role is essential to ensuring compliance with planning regulations, managing tree risk, and supporting sustainable land development.
Responsibilities
- Conduct tree surveys using BS5837 and other relevant standards.
- Assess tree health, structural integrity, and potential hazards.
- Record species, dimensions, condition, and location using GPS and GIS tools.
- Produce detailed arboriculture reports for planning applications, development sites, and risk assessments.
- Advise on tree protection measures, pruning, removal, and planting.
- Liaise with planners, developers, councils, and contractors.
- Ensure compliance with local authority policies and environmental legislation. Qualification in arboriculture (e.g., Level 3 Diploma, Foundation Degree, or equivalent).
Qualifications
- Experience in tree surveying, arboriculture consultancy, or tree surgery.
- Knowledge of tree biology, pests, diseases, and structural defects.
- Familiarity with mapping software and digital survey tools.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Full UK driving licence required.
