We\’re looking for a highly organised and agile Production Planner who thrives on complexity—balancing fluctuating demand, tight lead times, and strict food safety standards to keep our supply chain running like clockwork. The Person
To be a successful Production Planner at PROPER SNACKS they will be able to operate in fast-paced and dynamic function, which is core to the business operation. Be able to balance multiple priorities and respond quickly to change. They will have a passion for problem solving and continuous improvement. They will enjoy building relationships cross functionally and working with our external suppliers and partners to fuel business growth.
The Role
You will be responsible for medium-term production planning and short-term production schedulling for over 200 SKU’s across 20+ production lines. Working closely with manufacturing, supply chain, and commercial teams, you’ll ensure timely product availability while minimizing waste and downtime in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
Responsibilities
- Evaluate customer forecast and sales orders to create suitable production schedules aligning demand with available capacity and resources.
- Work closely with Operations to ensure plan execution and work with the team to ensure production issues are resolved and production delays kept to a minimum.
- Co-ordinate production schedules in accordance with available materials, labour and equipment.
- Respond swiftly to unplanned events—such as downtime, material delays, or urgent orders, by adjusting the schedule while protecting key deliverables.
- Identify and implement areas for continuous improvement within the planning fuctions, increasing efficiency and mitigating bottlenecks.
- Run the weekly plan sign off meeting to align on future production requirements.
- Attend the daily production meeting and represent on priorities around delivery and cost.
- Support new product launches and seasonal planning activities
- Own the adherence to plan reporting process.
Requirements
- To be successful in the role of Production Planner you will need to be extremely organised and have proven experience within a similar role (FMCG / Manufacturing experience desirable).
- ERP experience, (Access experience would be an advantage but not essential)
- Experience with scheduling production and managing finished goods inventory levels.
- Understanding materials planning is advantageous but not essential.
- Be able to manage to deadlines and demonstrate excellent time management skills.
- Demonstrate effective problem-solving skills to ensure that production operations run smoothly.
- Highly organised and able to work well within a team as well as on an individual basis.
- Strong Analytical skills
- Effective communication skills
