Proper Recruitment are delighted to be working with a growing brokerage in Essex, seeking a motivated Protection Adviser to provide tailored protection advice (Life, Critical Illness, Income Protection, Home/Buildings & Contents) to individuals, families and company directors. You’ll thrive in a fast-paced, target-driven environment, delivering outstanding service while helping clients secure financial peace of mind. This role is hybrid working role.

Responsibilities

  • Consult with clients to understand their protection needs, lifestyle and financial goals
  • Provide whole-of-market or panel-based advice across Life, CI, IP and Home/Buildings & Contents insurance
  • Prepare quotes, comparisons and clear recommendations aligned to client requirements
  • Ensure full compliance with FCA/network guidelines and internal procedures
  • Maintain strong product knowledge and keep up with industry changes
  • Build long-term client relationships through exceptional service and timely follow-up
  • Achieve and exceed personal and team-based sales targets and KPIs
  • Maintain accurate records; submit applications via CRM and insurer portals
  • Handle policy amendments, renewals and post-sale client queries

Requirements

  • 1–2+ years’ experience in insurance, financial services or protection sales (ideally advised)
  • Strong knowledge of Life, Critical Illness, Income Protection and Home insurance products
  • Excellent communication, rapport-building and objection-handling skills
  • Target-driven, self-motivated; able to work independently and as part of a team
  • Familiarity with FCA requirements and working in a regulated environment
  • Confident using CRM systems and insurer portals
  • CeMAP, R05 or equivalent qualifications (or ability to trade)
  • Competitive base salary with generous commission structure
