Proper Recruitment are working with a highly regarded Legal 500 ranked firm in Central London who are looking for an experienced Private Client Solicitor specialising in Contentious Trusts & Probate. This role will involve overseeing a specialist team while managing a high-quality caseload of complex estate and trust disputes. The team is well known for its technical excellence, offering a fantastic opportunity to make a real impact within a collaborative and forward-thinking environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Managing a varied caseload of contentious probate and trust disputes
  • Handling will challenges (capacity, undue influence)
  • Advising on executor and trustee disputes, breach of duty and maladministration
  • Managing Inheritance Act and proprietary estoppel claims
  • Overseeing and mentoring solicitors, trainees and paralegals
  • Supporting team development and maintaining high client service standards
  • Building strong client relationships and managing expectations
  • Contributing to business development, networking and marketing initiatives
  • Ensuring compliance with SRA regulations and internal policies

Requirements:

  • Qualified Solicitor with 6+ years PQE specialising in Contentious Probate
  • Proven leadership and team management experience
  • Confident handling complex disputes autonomously
  • Excellent client-facing and relationship-building skills
  • Commercially minded with an interest in practice development
  • Strong organisational, communication and multitasking abilities

Experience & Qualifications:

  • 2:1 or 1st class degree
  • Experience supervising junior solicitors and/or paralegals
  • Strong technical expertise in estate and trust disputes
  • Ability to manage a busy and time-sensitive caseload
