Proper Recruitment are working with a highly regarded Legal 500 ranked firm in Central London who are looking for an experienced Private Client Solicitor specialising in Contentious Trusts & Probate. This role will involve overseeing a specialist team while managing a high-quality caseload of complex estate and trust disputes. The team is well known for its technical excellence, offering a fantastic opportunity to make a real impact within a collaborative and forward-thinking environment.
Responsibilities:
- Managing a varied caseload of contentious probate and trust disputes
- Handling will challenges (capacity, undue influence)
- Advising on executor and trustee disputes, breach of duty and maladministration
- Managing Inheritance Act and proprietary estoppel claims
- Overseeing and mentoring solicitors, trainees and paralegals
- Supporting team development and maintaining high client service standards
- Building strong client relationships and managing expectations
- Contributing to business development, networking and marketing initiatives
- Ensuring compliance with SRA regulations and internal policies
Requirements:
- Qualified Solicitor with 6+ years PQE specialising in Contentious Probate
- Proven leadership and team management experience
- Confident handling complex disputes autonomously
- Excellent client-facing and relationship-building skills
- Commercially minded with an interest in practice development
- Strong organisational, communication and multitasking abilities
Experience & Qualifications:
- 2:1 or 1st class degree
- Experience supervising junior solicitors and/or paralegals
- Strong technical expertise in estate and trust disputes
- Ability to manage a busy and time-sensitive caseload
