We have an exciting opportunity for a Mix Room Operative to join our Night Shift Team. This is a hands-on, fast-paced role at the heart of our savoury production, perfect for someone who enjoys physical work and producing high-quality food products.
Hours of Work: 20:00–06:30, Monday to Thursday.
Hourly Rate: £13.55 per hour. Enhanced Rate: £16.94 per hour for hours worked between 20:00–06:00 or hours over 37.5 per week.
Responsibilities:
- Cooking & Mix Preparation: Prepare and cook savoury fillings for our pie and sausage roll production lines. Follow bespoke recipes to ensure every mix is prepared to the highest standards. Monitor cooking times, temperatures and product quality throughout the process. Ensure cooked mixes are available on time to support production requirements.
- Machine Setup: Set up scales, cookers and mixers at the start of each shift to ensure production can begin smoothly.
- Ingredient Preparation: Decant and prepare ingredients for Mix Prep and Production Line teams. Weigh out ingredients precisely following bespoke recipes.
- Product Safety & Traceability: Record batch numbers and maintain full traceability of all raw ingredients and completed mixes.
- Production Support: Keep production lines well-supplied throughout your shift. Operate mixers to ensure every mix is perfectly blended. Prepare glaze for pastry products, ensuring consistency and quality.
- Waste & Hygiene Management: Minimise waste and dispose of it correctly to maintain a clean, safe working environment. Maintain high standards of housekeeping and hygiene within the Mix Room.
- Teamwork & Training: Work as part of a close-knit team with a dedicated Team Leader. Complete a comprehensive training programme to develop your food manufacturing skills.
Please note: This is a physically demanding role that involves lifting up to 25kg and being on your feet for most of the shift.
