Due to continued business growth, we have an exciting opportunity for a qualified Financial Accountant to join our Finance Team based in Bodmin. This is a key role within the business, supporting financial planning, analysis, and reporting, and working closely with both finance colleagues and wider operational teams in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment.

Hours of work: 09:00 – 17:00

Days of work: Monday to Friday

Location: This is a fully onsite role based at our Bodmin site

Salary: Competitive, depending on experience and qualifications

Bonus: Performance‑related bonus scheme

The business is also preparing to introduce a brand‑new ERP system, and this role will play a key part in helping to shape and implement the new system, contributing to improved processes, data integrity, and enhanced financial reporting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Financial Planning, Analysis & Reporting
    • Lead the annual budget and quarterly reforecast processes
    • Develop and maintain financial models to support scenario planning, margin analysis, and operational decision‑making
    • Support timely management reporting and month‑end close activities
  • Costing & Operational Finance
    • Maintain and update standard costs, labour, and overhead absorption rates
    • Analyse production variances (yield, labour, materials, waste) and work closely with operational teams to improve cost performance
    • Support NPD and Sales teams with product costings, pricing decisions, and margin modelling
  • Controls, Compliance & Improvement
    • Provide oversight and support across purchase ledger activities, ensuring compliance with financial policies and audit requirements
    • Support continuous improvement initiatives across the business
    • Maintain compliance with Health & Safety, Food Safety, Environmental, and Company policies
  • Team Support
    • Working within a small, friendly and hardworking team
    • Support the development of colleagues where appropriate
    • Undertake additional projects or activities as required to support business needs

Essential Requirements

  • Fully qualified ACA / ACCA / CIMA (this qualification is an essential requirement of the role)
  • Post‑qualification experience within a manufacturing environment (food/FMCG preferred)
  • Strong understanding of standard costing, variance analysis, and operational finance
  • Advanced Excel and financial modelling skills; experience using Power BI
  • Excellent analytical skills with strong attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively under pressure
