We are looking for someone with a well-rounded brand marketing background to step into a high-impact role with responsibility for shaping the direction of PROPER across the UK and international markets.
The Senior Brand Manager will own major growth platforms, lead our most significant innovation bets and play a key role in defining brand and portfolio strategy. The role is ideal for someone who combines consumer-led thinking with commercial decision-making and cross-functional influence.
THE PERSON
We are looking for an experienced Brand Manager looking to make the next step in their career or an established Senior Brand Manager who is looking to join a challenger brand making a big impact in our category. The right person will be highly driven and organised, who thrives in a fast-paced environment, has a curiosity and passion for developing brands using strong consumer insight and creative flair. An in-depth experience of delivering innovation is essential for this role, with an expectation of being able to demonstrate having taken NPD from concept stage to product launch. You will bring FMCG experience, alongside strong analytical & commercial acumen ensuring all innovation is driving positive financial growth to the brand. You will have fantastic communication & leadership skills and the ability to collaborate with a cross-functional team (including directly with the Senior Leadership Team) to make the right decisions for business growth.
This is a hands-on role, requiring someone who thrives in a self-starter environment you will be a real multi-tasker, highly organised, someone who thinks and suggests rather than always asks, and transforms ideas into action, knowing that “if it’s going to happen, it’s down to me.”
THE ROLE
Own and lead PROPER’s largest and most strategically important innovation programmes, from early-stage opportunity identification through to launch and in-market optimisation. You will be pivotal in shaping the early stages of future innovation ensuring the proposition is anchored in consumer insight you have untapped. You will be joining a brand team of seven, reporting to the Marketing Manager, working closely alongside our existing brand team, comms and campaigns team, in-house creative studio team and product development team to drive sustainable growth across the UK and key international markets. This role will support the Marketing Manager in shaping the medium to long term innovation and portfolio strategy, identifying where the brand should play and win to drive sustainable growth. As the Senior Brand Manager you will be the international brand lead for PROPER, setting clear brand, portfolio and activation frameworks for Tier 1 markets.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Define and lead PROPER’S next ‘big bet’ innovation platforms from idea to launch, ensuring they are grounded in deep consumer insight and deliver meaningful commercial impact.
- Provide clear strategic direction to a cross-functional team across category, innovation, packaging, commercial finance, technical and production teams.
- Work closely with our in-house creative team and Shopper Marketing Manager to deliver multichannel marketing campaigns, both ATL & BTL, for key product launches & activations throughout the year.
- Analyse and evaluate performance in-market, across our portfolio and brand, making recommendations on investment, optimisation and rationalisation.
- Build strong relationships across our commercial sales team and collaborate on driving growth for PROPER.
- International Brand lead ensuring PROPER is set up to win across key markets.
- Act as a senior marketing voice within the business, influencing decisions beyond marketing.
- Own executional excellence across the full lifecycle of every project from brilliant briefs to the Innovation and Creative team, strong commercial proposition through to standout in-store execution that drives commercial impact.
REQUIREMENTS
- 5-7 years FMCG marketing experience. Working in UK Grocery, food or drink is a plus.
- Proven track record of delivering innovation to market from concept stage to launch is critical.
- Experience of leading cross-functional teams, holding all stakeholders to account.
- An analytical marketeer with strong commercial acumen, good numerical literacy and experience of owning project P&Ls.
- A superb project manager, who can stick to timelines and budgets and is used to taking ownership for delivery of projects.
- Brings creative flair and a natural problem-solving mindset, with a strong ‘Builder’ mentality.
