We are looking for a Brand Manager with a well‑rounded brand marketing background who would relish the opportunity to own and deliver key innovation to market, from ideation to shelf, from day one of joining the team. International growth is a key part of the brand strategy, and the Brand Manager plays a vital role in delivering the PROPER international strategy, ensuring we are set up to win in key markets.
The Person
We are looking for a highly driven and organised Brand Manager who thrives in a fast‑paced environment, has a curiosity and passion for developing brands using strong consumer insight and creative flair. An in‑depth experience of delivering innovation is essential, with an expectation of having taken NPD from concept stage to product launch. You will bring FMCG experience, alongside strong analytical & commercial acumen ensuring all innovation is driving positive financial growth to the brand. You will have fantastic communication skills and the ability to collaborate with a cross‑functional team (including directly with the Senior Leadership Team) to make the right decisions for business growth. This is a hands‑on role, requiring someone who thrives in a self‑starter environment, is a real multi‑tasker, highly organised, thinks and suggests rather than always asks, and transforms ideas into action, knowing that “if it’s going to happen, it’s down to me.”
The Role
This role focuses on brilliant delivery. You will lead innovation projects from concept to launch, delivering against clearly defined brand and portfolio strategies. The Brand Manager will work closely with the Marketing Managers to bring brand plans and campaigns to life across channels. Support the development of the 12–18 month innovation pipeline ensuring the proposition is anchored in consumer insight you have untapped. You will be joining a brand team of seven, reporting to the Marketing Manager, working closely alongside our existing brand team, in‑house creative studio team and product development team to drive sustainable growth across the UK and key international markets. As the Brand Manager, you will also be the international lead for PROPER, ensuring we have the right brand plans and portfolio to deliver rapid and sustained growth across our tier 1 markets.
Responsibilities
- Own the day‑to‑day delivery of key innovation projects.
- Lead a cross‑functional team across category, innovation, packaging, commercial finance, technical and production teams.
- Brief and work closely with our in‑house creative team, Content Creator and Shopper Marketing Manager to deliver launch activation for key product launches and activations throughout the year.
- Track in‑market performance and make optimisation recommendations based on data and insight.
- Build strong relationships across our commercial sales team and collaborate on driving growth for PROPER.
- Build sell‑in decks, customer presentations and work with the Shopper Marketing Manager to execute in‑store plans.
- International Brand lead, ensuring PROPER is set up to win across key markets.
- Work closely with our international team, including distributors and retailers, to ensure we have a portfolio fit to win in the relevant market.
- Have a good understanding of social media.
Requirements
- 35+ yrs FMCG marketing experience working in UK Grocery, food or drink is a plus.
- Proven track record of delivering innovation to market from concept stage to launch is critical.
- In this role you will have complete ownership for project delivery.
- Experience of leading cross‑functional teams, holding all stakeholders to account.
- An analytical marketeer with strong commercial acumen, good numerical literacy and experience of owning project P&Ls.
- Strong project management skills and commercial awareness, used to taking ownership for delivery of projects and whatever it takes to get the job done.
