Position Summary
The Director of Compliance will oversee the Company's adherence to financial and tax reporting regulations and internal policies by developing and implementing compliance programs, conducting risk assessments and audits, and training employees on procedures and requirements. This senior role involves monitoring compliance with local financial and tax reporting requirements, collaborating across departments, managing relationships with third-party internal control staff, and staying current on evolving regulatory landscapes. Located – Remote, with preference for UK Location.
Essential Responsibilities, Accountabilities & Results
- Monitor compliance with Reporting Requirements: Collaborate with local financial teams to ensure timely and accurate annual report and tax filings. Act as liaison between the local teams and external firms to resolve outstanding issues.
- Develop & Implement Compliance Programs: Create and roll out comprehensive compliance programs and internal infrastructure to meet all financial regulations.
- Conduct Audits & Risk Assessments: Lead and maintain annual Risk Assessment. Manage relationship with outsourced internal audit staff to design and execute internal audit functions and risk-based compliance testing to identify, monitor, and correct non-compliance.
- Review Reconciliations: Review non-US reconciliations to ensure completeness and accuracy.
- Monitor Regulatory Changes: Stay informed of new and amended regulations, assessing market trends and forecasting changes that could impact the organization.
- Investigate Incidents: Manage the investigation and resolution of compliance issues and incidents, ensuring timely and appropriate follow-up.
Competency Requirements
- Strong leadership, strategic thinking, and the ability to manage complex initiatives.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality, deliver and follow instructions, and possess an attention to detail and ability to work accurately.
- Ability to analyze complex information and assess risks.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office Products (Word, Excel, Outlook) and possess ability to navigate and use other web-based systems as necessary.
- Possess a positive attitude and establish good working relationships with a variety of internal and external stakeholders.
- Business travel as required, maybe international.
Educational & Experience Minimum Requirements
Bachelor's degree and 5-7 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
