A leading player in construction technology is hiring a Business Consultant to support the pre-sales and solution design process for clients across the built environment. This is a strategic, technical-facing commercial role where you'll work alongside account managers to shape digital transformation initiatives for contractors and consultancies using cutting-edge construction software. You'll need a deep understanding of construction processes and a solid grasp of digital tools like Autodesk Construction Cloud to advise customers on best-fit solutions that deliver real project outcomes. You'll also need to be commercially minded to drive revenue and growth, supporting the sales functions with conversions and expansion of accounts.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the sales and customer teams to define solutions that align with client needs and commercial goals
- Assess construction project challenges and map them to appropriate software capabilities
- Deliver detailed product demonstrations, workshops, and technical presentations to key stakeholders
- Support tender responses, RFPs, and RFIs with technical input and documentation
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends, product features, and competitor offerings
- Build trusted advisor status with clients by offering insight into transformation and adoption strategy
- Ensure demonstration environments are fully updated and aligned to client expectations
- Capture client needs and translate them into commercially viable proposals and implementation plans
- Support the internal sales enablement process by following best practices, tools, and systems
- Be both commercially and technically minded.
Essential Experience & Skills
- 5 + years of relevant experience needed - In Technical Account Management, Pre Post Sales Consulting, Pre Sales Engineer, etc.
- ONC/HNC or degree in a construction-related discipline (e.g. Architecture, Surveying, MEP, Construction Management)
- Demonstrable experience working within construction or for a software reseller servicing the industry
- Hands-on familiarity with digital construction platforms – especially Autodesk Construction Cloud (Docs, Build, BIM Collaborate/Pro)
- Strong communication skills and the ability to present complex solutions clearly and persuasively
- Experience contributing to solution design, technical proposals, or software demonstrations
- Understanding of workflows around planning, costing, estimation, site execution, or snagging
Desirable (but not essential)
- Experience working with Tier 1 or Tier 2 contractors in a digital or BIM-focused role
- Prior involvement in managing or delivering Common Data Environments on live construction projects
- Professional affiliation with a construction-related body
