PR Account Director | Luxury Travel and Hotels
Lead an exciting luxury travel portfolio, enjoy more autonomy and help shape the future of a boutique PR agency.
I'm partnering with a boutique, senior-led PR and communications agency with an established reputation across luxury travel, hospitality and wellbeing.
Their portfolio spans luxury hotels and resorts, internationally recognised retreats and conservation-led travel businesses, alongside wellbeing experts and a new longevity brand launching resorts internationally.
With client relationships spanning decades and a business built through recommendations, they're now hiring an Account Director to take ownership of key accounts and contribute to their next chapter.
What's in it for you?
If you love luxury travel PR and want more freedom to do your best work, there's a lot to like here.
A grown-up approach to flexibility. Two days together in London, with flexibility around hours and personal commitments. You'll be trusted to manage your work and deliver.
More ownership and a bigger voice. Lead your own client relationships, put your ideas into practice and work directly with the founders. Your experience and judgement will help shape the approach.
Interesting clients to get excited about. From luxury resorts and internationally recognised retreats to conservation-led travel and longevity, there's plenty of scope to develop stories you care about.
Room to develop beyond your accounts. Build your experience across partnerships, contribute to the agency's growth and potentially help lead a new arm of the business as it develops. Longer-term equity is also a possibility, with details still to be agreed.
An established business to build on. Bring your ambition and ideas to an agency with longstanding clients, experienced colleagues and a reputation that generates recommendations.
The opportunity
You'll work closely with the founders in a small, experienced team, taking responsibility for your own portfolio and helping shape each client's communications.
There's room to bring ideas, challenge a brief constructively and develop opportunities beyond the obvious hotel opening or seasonal roundup.
You might be finding a distinctive angle for a luxury resort, developing a retreat's wellbeing story or creating a partnership that introduces a client to a new audience.
Your account mix will reflect your experience and strengths. Across that portfolio, you'll stay close to both the strategy and the practical delivery.
What you'll take ownership of
- Leading luxury travel and hospitality accounts, building trusted relationships with clients and their leadership teams.
- Developing communications strategies rooted in each client's business, audience and ambitions.
- Creating stories and securing relevant coverage across luxury travel and lifestyle media.
- Maintaining active journalist relationships and making new connections through meetings, events and thoughtful outreach.
- Identifying collaborations with complementary brands, private members' clubs and relevant networks.
- Leading client calls, managing expectations and handling challenging conversations with confidence.
- Working with junior support while remaining involved in pitching, follow-ups and reporting.
- Keeping actions moving, anticipating issues and making sure clients feel well looked after.
The experience we'd love to hear about
Your background is likely to include personally leading PR for luxury hotels, resorts, travel brands or specialist retreats.
You'll understand the publications these clients want to be in and, crucially, what makes a story right for their readers.
Relevant experience could include working with titles such as Condé Nast Traveller, the Financial Times and HTSI, Tatler, Harper's Bazaar, Robb Report or Travel + Leisure, alongside other credible travel and lifestyle outlets.
You don't need coverage in every title listed. We're interested in the relevance of your experience, the strength of your relationships and your personal contribution.
What will help you stand out in conversation
We'd love you to bring specific examples of:
- Accounts you've personally led. The clients, your responsibilities and how you earned their trust.
- Journalists you actively work with. Who they are, what they cover and a recent story or opportunity you developed together.
- Coverage you helped secure. The angle, your approach and why the result mattered to the client.
- Relationships you've built yourself. A meeting you initiated, a new contact you developed or an introduction that led somewhere useful.
- Ideas you're excited about. Something you've read, noticed or experienced that could become a compelling client story.
- Ownership in practice. How you've kept an account moving, solved a problem or managed a difficult conversation.
Specific examples help us understand what you could bring. We'd love to hear about your own contribution, your judgement and the work you've most enjoyed.
The person behind the experience
They're looking for someone warm, curious and proactive, with enthusiasm for luxury travel and the confidence to contribute.
That enthusiasm might show up in the ideas you bring, the publications you follow, the relationships you nurture or the opportunities you spot for clients.
You'll enjoy building connections and feel comfortable picking up the practical work that comes with being part of a small team. Strong organisation and follow-through will matter just as much as creativity.
An interest in wellbeing, retreats and longevity would be valuable. An established specialist wellness network isn't essential, provided you bring strong luxury travel foundations and the appetite to develop new relationships.
International media contacts and partnership experience would also be welcome additions.
A few practical details
- Location: Hybrid, with two days together in London Victoria, alongside journalist meetings and relevant events.
- Flexibility: Flexibility around working hours and personal commitments, with accountability for delivery.
- New business: Suitable introductions are rewarded, but bringing a client book isn't a requirement.
If you have strong luxury travel PR experience and would enjoy greater ownership, flexibility and influence within a collaborative boutique agency, I'd love to speak with you.
