Master Data Governance Manager - Contract hire - 3 months - Start ASAP
I’m currently looking for a Master Data Governance Manager for a 3-month contract role, with strong potential for extension and/or a permanent move for the right candidate.
Location: Ideally London-based (Hybrid – minimum 1 day/week in office)
The Role
You’ll take ownership of the enterprise master data strategy across students, parents, staff, schools, and vendors, and play a key role in shaping how data is governed and trusted across a complex organisation.
Key responsibilities include:
- Owning and evolving the enterprise master data strategy
- Establishing and running data standards, governance, and stewardship
- Defining data ownership, decision rights, and accountability across Group, Regions, and Schools
- Improving data quality, consistency, and controls across core systems
- Enabling trusted reporting, analytics, and system integration at scale
Experience Required
- 5–10 years’ experience in data management, master data, or data governance roles
- Proven experience establishing or scaling master data governance frameworks
- Hands-on experience across ERP, CRM, HRIS, SIS, or similar enterprise platforms
- Comfortable working in matrixed, international environments
- Strong understanding of data quality, ownership, stewardship, and controls
- Experience with shared services, CoEs, or transformation programmes (preferred)
- Able to turn business needs into practical, workable data standards
- Confident engaging with senior stakeholders across Technology, Finance, Operations, and the business
Immediate starters or short notice preferred.
