This is a rare, senior delivery role at the heart of a national social care data and digital transformation programme. Funding is secured, legislation is in place, political uncertainty has passed and the work is now firmly about execution.
The role: You’ll act as senior deputy to the Programme Lead, taking day-to-day ownership of delivery, decision-making and stakeholder coordination for a complex, time-critical programme with a 15-year ambition and a crucial 3-year delivery window. Over time, you may take full ownership of this programme or go on to launch and lead future ones.
About you:
- Background in consultancy or equivalent complex change environment
- Ideally experience in local public / human services (e.g. social care, health, policing)
- Led digital or data-enabled change in regulated or politically sensitive settings
Strongly preferred:
- Experience in adult and/or children’s social care
- Scaling standards in regulated environments
- Working with dominant vendors in concentrated markets
- You’re comfortable with ambiguity, slow progress, difficult stakeholders and long-term persuasion. You lead through credibility, care deeply about outcomes, and thrive where others get frustrated.
If you want to turn political will into operational change and shape the future of social care data and technology in the UK, I’d love to hear from you.
