A growing business in the manufacturing sector is seeking a dynamic and ‘hands‑on’ Finance Manager to lead its finance operations for one of its UK entities. This strategic role combines day to day operations with financial planning and analysis, supporting both domestic performance and international expansion. This role will be part of the SMT and will report into the Managing Director and have one direct report.
Salary and benefits:
- Up to £55,000
- Working hours: 8am-5pm / 8.30am-5.30pm Monday to Friday
- Office based
- 25 days annual holiday + 6 Bank holidays

Duties and responsibilities:
- Prepare monthly and annual financial accounts, audits, and board‑level reports
- Complete P&L, balance sheet, cash flow, and management accounts
- Lead month‑end close, journals, provisions, and reconciliations
- Manage VAT returns, Intrastat, ONS submissions, and payroll compliance
- Maintain asset register, lease contracts, and insurance renewals
- Supervise credit control and purchase ledger
- Analyse product and customer profitability, identifying margin erosion
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and strategic planning
- Develop financial models for international ventures, acquisitions, and joint ventures
- Liaise with external auditors and ensure HMRC compliance
Skills and experience required:
- ACCA / CIMA Qualified or part‑qualified
- Previous experience of working within a very hands‑on role reporting to an international group desirable
- Experience of working within an engineering, industrial or manufacturing environment
- Familiarity with production order and Bills of Materials
- Technically knowledgeable along with good commercial acumen
- Confident in liaising with Directors and stakeholders in the business
- Proficient in excel based modelling
- Experience in international business planning or cross border finance desirable
- Enjoys taking ownership of tasks and working with a self‑motivated and enterprising approach
