We’re delighted to be recruiting a Senior Accountant vacancy on behalf of an award‑winning accountancy practice. This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified accountant to join a forward‑thinking firm where autonomy, client relationships and high‑quality advisory work sit at the heart of the role. This offers ownership of a varied client portfolio and the chance to play a key role in supporting clients with insight‑led accounting and tax services.
Salary up to £55k, 37.5 hour working week, 9am–5.30pm Monday to Friday, Friday working from home, Statutory pension, Private healthcare after 6 months, Free car parking.
Duties and responsibilities:
- Managing a diverse client portfolio and acting as the main point of contact.
- Leading monthly client review meetings, presenting financial insights and agreeing actions.
- Preparing and reviewing bookkeeping, ledgers, reconciliations, journals, accruals and prepayments.
- Producing monthly and quarterly management accounts with commentary.
- Preparing year‑end accounts under UK GAAP and FRS standards and handling related queries.
- Preparing and submitting Self‑Assessment tax returns, corporation tax computations and CT600s.
- Preparing and submitting VAT returns, including complex schemes, and providing MTD and VAT advice.
Required skills and experience:
- ACA or ACCA qualified with strong accountancy practice experience.
- Proven ability to manage a client portfolio and deliver end‑to‑end accounting services.
- Confidence leading client meetings and explaining financial information clearly.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines.
- Experience using cloud accounting systems and Excel, with Mac experience desirable.
- A client‑focused, commercially aware approach with excellent attention to detail.
