We’re delighted to be recruiting a Bookkeeper on behalf of a well-established Accountancy Practice, offering a varied role managing a portfolio of clients and working closely with stakeholders. This role provides flexibility around hours and location, making it a strong opportunity for an experienced Bookkeeper seeking a balanced and client-facing role.
Salary and benefits:
- £30,000 – £35,000 per annum (pro rata for part-time hours)
- Full-time or part-time available (3 days per week minimum)
- 20 days annual leave
- Remote or hybrid working
- Office Location: Market Harborough
Duties and responsibilities:
- Managing day-to-day bookkeeping for a small portfolio of clients
- Processing purchase and sales invoices and maintaining accurate financial records
- Completing regular bank reconciliations
- Preparing and submitting VAT returns and CIS returns in line with HMRC requirements
- Producing profit & loss statements and balance sheets from the Xero accounting system
- Assisting with month-end processes and financial reporting
- Supporting and advising clients on bookkeeping processes and best practice along with demonstrations of Xero and setting up of accounts
Required skills and experience:
- Proven experience in a Bookkeeper role, within practice managing multiple clients
- Strong working knowledge of Xero, including client setup and onboarding
- Solid understanding of VAT and CIS processes
- Experience using Sage would be advantageous
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, including basic formulas
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail
- Confident communicator with the ability to work directly with clients
