As a Senior Inside Sales Engineer (Commercial) at Proofpoint, you will partner with Account Managers and Channel Partners to deliver people‑centric security solutions across the entire Proofpoint portfolio. After onboarding and product training, you will become a trusted advisor, presenting product demos, proof‑of‑concepts, and threat assessments to help customers protect against modern cyber threats.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the sales team to develop and execute targeted account penetration strategies.
- Design and champion complex people‑centric security solutions that encompass the entire Proofpoint portfolio.
- Deliver compelling product demonstrations, proof‑of‑concepts, and threat assessments to prospective customers.
- Occasionally assist in professional services deployments and technical training.
- Present or attend industry seminars and trade shows to showcase Proofpoint solutions.
- Provide valuable customer insights and real‑world experiences to Product Management, Marketing, and Product Development (Engineering) teams.
- Work with the Channel team to support and enable distributors and resellers.
- Develop expertise in Email Security, Advanced Persistent Threats, Attack Protection, Threat Response, Data Loss Prevention (DLP), and the broader threat landscape.
- Travel occasionally as required.
Qualifications
- Proven hands‑on experience as a Sales/Systems Engineer, Technical Account Manager, Security Engineer, or senior‑level product support, preferably in cybersecurity.
- Experience with secure messaging, data security, network security, endpoint protection, NOC/SOC, or MSP‑related cybersecurity.
- Excellent presentation, communication, and organizational skills.
- Fluency in English; additional languages are a plus.
- Exposure to at least two of the following skill sets:
- Enterprise email solutions such as Exchange, Office365, G‑Suite, Lotus Domino, or working knowledge of SMTP.
- IT security areas such as Vulnerability and Risk Management, Security Operations, or Incident Response.
- Data Loss Prevention (DLP) and data privacy compliance.
- Cloud security and shadow IT monitoring.
- Cloud computing infrastructure (e.g., AWS, Azure).
- Hands‑on experience with: Directory Services (Active Directory, Azure AD, LDAP, iDP), Email authentication (SPF, DKIM, DMARC), Networking protocols (DNS, LDAP, HTTP).
- Knowledge of security standards and frameworks such as ISO, MITRE, NIST, and relevant certifications (CISSP, CCSP, etc.).
- A consultative approach to problem‑solving and a desire to pivot toward a sales‑focused career.
