As the Area Maintenance Lead , you will support the Central Maintenance Lead in resource planning for the On Call Rota and the weekly maintenance schedule. The role requires strong leadership and process knowledge. This is a full-time, permanent position. Job Purpose Reporting to the Maintenance and Reliability Manager, you will manage a team of technicians to respond to and resolve plant and equipment breakdowns, minimizing downtime and production impact. You will oversee reactive maintenance, ensure parts and equipment are available, and work closely with the Central Maintenance Lead to improve processes. Roles & Responsibilities Lead the maintenance team to resolve breakdowns safely and efficiently, minimizing production impact. Triaging plant issues to identify necessary maintenance interventions. Collaborate with Site Operations and Central Maintenance to prioritize breakdowns. Conduct RCIs to identify issues and feed into preventative plans. Maintain maintenance records and report team performance. Ensure safety regulations and policies are followed. Monitor and order maintenance supplies as needed. Oversee contract support and ensure documentation is in place. Maintain housekeeping and safety standards in the workshop and surrounding area. Manage the maintenance team, including setting objectives, development, training, and performance management. Qualifications Level 4 Apprenticeship in a recognized maintenance discipline. At least 5 years of maintenance leadership or related experience. Skills & Experience Experience in the chemical manufacturing sector. Strong leadership and team management skills. Problem-solving skills for maintenance issues. Knowledge of maintenance planning and scheduling. Understanding of safety regulations. Experience with CMMS software. Effective communication skills. Ability to work under pressure and prioritize tasks safely.
