We are currently recruiting Registered Mental Health Nurses (RMN) and Mental Health Nurses for agency shifts within mental health inpatient settings. This role is ideal for clinicians who are confident working in acute environments and delivering high-quality, person-centred care to service users with complex mental health needs.
You will work as part of a multidisciplinary team to provide safe, effective, and therapeutic care in line with clinical policies and best practice.
Key Responsibilities- Deliver high-quality nursing care to patients within an inpatient mental health setting
- Undertake comprehensive mental health assessments and ongoing risk assessments
- Develop, implement, and review individualised care plans
- Administer medication in line with prescriptions and local policies
- Monitor and respond to changes in patients' mental state and behaviour
- Manage and de-escalate challenging behaviour using approved techniques
- Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation
- Work collaboratively with psychiatrists, psychologists, support workers, and other MDT members
- Ensure compliance with safeguarding, infection control, and health & safety policies
- Promote patient dignity, recovery, and independence at all times
- Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN) or equivalent professional qualification
- Valid NMC registration (or relevant professional registration)
- Recent experience working in a mental health inpatient setting
- Up-to-date mandatory training (or willingness to complete)
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work flexibly and adapt to different ward environments
- Right to work in the UK
- Experience in Acute Adult Mental Health, PICU, Rehabilitation, or Older Adult services
- Knowledge of the Mental Health Act and Mental Capacity Act
- Experience managing challenging behaviour and complex presentations
