Job Overview
Our client, a leading healthcare provider in Essex, is seeking skilled and compassionate Agency Paediatric Nurses to join their Accident & Emergency (A&E) department. The successful candidates will be responsible for delivering high-quality emergency care to children and adolescents, ensuring their urgent medical needs are met promptly and effectively.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide immediate nursing care to paediatric patients in the A&E department, including triage, assessment, treatment, and stabilization.
- Administer medications, perform medical procedures, and monitor vital signs in accordance with established protocols.
- Collaborate with A&E physicians, specialists, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans.
- Educate and support families and caregivers on the management of acute conditions and emergency situations.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, ensuring compliance with legal and professional standards.
- Assist in the coordination of care with other hospital departments and external agencies.
- Ensure a safe and therapeutic environment for patients and their families.
- Respond promptly and effectively to emergency situations, utilizing critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Adhere to all relevant policies, procedures, and regulatory standards.
- Participate in ongoing professional development and training to stay current with advancements in paediatric emergency care.
Qualifications and Experience
- Registered Childrens Nurse (RN) qualification with a valid NMC (Nursing and Midwifery Council) registration.
- Minimum of 6 months of experience in paediatric nursing, with a focus on emergency care preferred.
- Proven ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organisational and time management abilities.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certifications are required.
