We are supporting an NHS Trust in the East Midlands with the appointment of a Locum Specialty Doctor in Haematology.

This is an excellent opportunity for a suitably qualified Specialty Doctor to join an established NHS Haematology service and provide high-quality specialist care to patients.

The successful candidate will work as part of a multidisciplinary team, supporting the Trust's haematology workload and contributing to the delivery of safe, efficient and patient-centred clinical services.

The Role

The successful candidate will provide Specialty Doctor-level Haematology services within the Trust.

The role will include:

  • Providing Specialty Doctor-level clinical services within Haematology
  • Assessing, diagnosing and managing patients with a range of haematological conditions
  • Supporting the day-to-day delivery of the Haematology service
  • Providing clinical advice to referring clinicians and other healthcare professionals
  • Contributing to multidisciplinary team working and clinical discussions
  • Reviewing and interpreting relevant laboratory and clinical investigations
  • Supporting safe and effective patient management and treatment pathways
  • Maintaining accurate and timely clinical documentation
  • Maintaining high standards of clinical governance and patient safety
  • Contributing to service improvement activities where required
  • Working collaboratively with Consultants, junior doctors and the wider multidisciplinary team

What We're Looking For

Essential Requirements

  • Full GMC registration with licence to practise
  • Appropriate experience in Haematology
  • Previous NHS experience within a Haematology department
  • Strong clinical assessment, diagnostic and patient management skills
  • Ability to work independently while contributing effectively to a multidisciplinary team
  • Excellent clinical decision-making and communication skills
  • Commitment to delivering high-quality, patient-centred care
  • Availability for the agreed rota throughout the assignment

Desirable Requirements

  • Previous experience working as a Specialty Doctor within an NHS Haematology department
  • Broad experience across general and specialist haematology
  • Experience in clinical audit, governance or service improvement
  • Teaching and supervision experience
  • Experience contributing to multidisciplinary team meetings and complex clinical decision-making
