The Opportunity
We are currently seeking an experienced Emergency Medicine ST4+ Doctor to support the Emergency Department in North West.
This locum opportunity offers a structured night-shift rota from 15 September 2026 to 15 October 2026, providing consistent work within a busy Emergency Department. The role is ideally suited to senior doctors with experience working independently in high-pressure emergency settings and the confidence to lead overnight clinical activity.
You will be working alongside established multidisciplinary teams, supporting emergency care delivery, managing acutely unwell patients, and contributing to safe and effective patient outcomes.

What You'll Be Doing
- Act as the most senior doctor on overnight shifts within the Emergency Department.
- Assess, diagnose, and manage patients presenting with a wide range of acute and emergency conditions.
- Lead the management of critically ill patients within Resuscitation areas.
- Provide competent assessment and treatment of paediatric emergency presentations.
- Work collaboratively with consultants, nurses, AHPs, and the wider multidisciplinary team.
- Ensure accurate, timely, and comprehensive clinical documentation.
- Contribute to maintaining patient flow and delivering safe, effective care throughout the department.
- Escalate concerns appropriately and support clinical decision-making within the team.
What We're Looking For
- Active GMC registration.
- ST4+ level Emergency Medicine experience.
- Recent NHS experience within Emergency Medicine at the required grade.
- Ability to work independently as the most senior doctor on night shifts.
- Competence in both Resuscitation and Paediatric Emergency Medicine.
- Strong clinical judgement, communication skills, and professionalism.
- Full compliance documentation available at the time of submission.
- Valid Right to Work in the UK (please note we do not offer visa sponsorship).
