The Opportunity

We are currently seeking a Specialty Doctor in Breast Radiology to support a Radiology service based in the South West within the Planned Care & Surgery Directorate. This locum opportunity offers the chance to work within an established Radiology team, supporting the delivery of high-quality breast imaging services. The role is well suited to doctors with experience in Radiology and a particular interest in Breast Radiology, who are committed to delivering safe, patient-centred care within a multidisciplinary environment. You will work alongside experienced radiologists, clinicians, and healthcare professionals, contributing to diagnostic pathways and supporting the ongoing delivery of an efficient and effective breast radiology service.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Deliver high-quality Breast Radiology services within your scope of practice.
  • Interpret and report appropriate breast imaging investigations.
  • Support multidisciplinary team meetings and collaborative patient management.
  • Work closely with radiologists, surgeons, oncologists, nurses, and other healthcare professionals.
  • Maintain accurate, timely, and comprehensive clinical documentation.
  • Contribute to clinical governance, quality improvement, and service development initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with departmental protocols, NHS standards, and best practice guidelines.
  • Support the delivery of safe, effective, and patient-focused diagnostic services.

What We’re Looking For

  • Full GMC registration with a licence to practise.
  • Relevant experience within Radiology, ideally with exposure to Breast Radiology services.
  • Recent NHS experience preferred.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Strong clinical judgement, communication, and organisational skills.
  • Commitment to delivering high standards of patient care.
